sE Electronics SE-6160 Overview

Ideal for live sound IEM crowd noise, on-set dialogue capture, broadcasting in noise spaces, and spot miking orchestras, the sE Electronics sE6160 is a shotgun mic with handcrafted, gold-sputtered true condenser capsule and a tight supercardioid/lobar pickup pattern. With switchable -10 or -20 dB pad and 80 or 160 Hz low-cut filter, you can handle nearly any audio source.

The extremely tight and specially tuned pickup pattern helps to not only cut out unwanted environmental off-axis noise, it also ensures a high gain before feedback without colorization of signals. The housing is constructed from die-cast metal for durability and sports a 3-pin XLR output. As a true condenser mic, the sE6160 takes common 48V phantom power. The sE6160 includes a mic clip with thread adapter, a foam windscreen, and a soft case.

Custom-Made Shotgun Capsule
The handcrafted, in-house designed true condenser capsule with a gold-sputtered diaphragm ensures crystal clarity and uncolored sound.
Attenuation Pad
The attenuation switch allows you to reduce the microphone’s signal by 10 or 20 dB. This can be helpful for loud sources, preventing overload on your audio interface. When this switch is in its center position, it has no effect on the microphone output.
Low-Cut Filter
The low-cut switch allows you to adjust the bass response of your source. When engaged, the microphone's low-frequency response is rolled off at 80 or 160 Hz. When this switch is in its center position, it has no effect on the microphone output.
