Sporting the same legendary circuitry as the 3124V and 3124MV, the API Audio 3122V is a rackmounted 2-channel mic preamp with variable output control and up to 68 dB of noise-free gain. Sporting both front-panel XLR-1/4" combo input jacks and rear-panel XLR mic inputs, you can flip between these two sets of inputs to handle any mic, line, or Hi-Z instrument signals.
Along with the input selection, front-panel controls include a fixed-frequency 50 Hz high-pass filter for eliminating unwanted rumble, selectable 48V phantom power per input, a polarity flip switch, and a -20 dB pad for excessively hot input signals. You also get a 3:1 output transformer tap selection, which reduces the output gain ratio from 1:3 to 1:1 (equal to approximately 10 dB). Two XLR line outputs are provided on the rear panel. The unit sports two clear, illuminated, vintage-style VU meters for keeping an eye on levels. The preamp also features a peak LED indicator. With 2520 op-amp circuitry and a custom output transformer, the 3122V delivers all the clarity, reliability, and classic API sound expected of a true API mic preamp.
