Kopul LT-PDI2 Reviews
Kopal one channel passive direct box for the win!
I’ve been using the Kopal one-channel laptop direct box for a while now, and it’s been super reliable. The 1/8" to XLR connection works cleanly with my setup, and the audio comes through clear without unwanted noise or hum. It’s simple to use, lightweight, and makes connecting a laptop to a mixer or PA system really easy. Definitely a solid little DI box for live sound or events. Things I like are I can plug into a XLR channel directly without a XLR cable be it with a little less length to my laptop or source but in a pinch it’s a nice option. Has a volume knob, ground/lift switch , and a mute button that can be used when multiple operators are on show when you want to do some edits quickly without risking the A1 might have left the channel I’m working on open. All in all a great addition to anyone’s travel pack I’m going to pick up 1 more unit to be prepared. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review.]
Works just as advertised and is very handy
I have been using this Kopul LT-PDI2 when connecting laptops and mobile devices to mixers, external recorders and sound systems, and it has been a very useful little piece of gear. Sometimes you need a quick way to get audio from a phone, tablet, or laptop into a professional audio setup, and this direct box makes that process simple and reliable. And in my opinion, it sounds great. One of the things I like most about it is that it is completely passive. There are no batteries or power supplies to worry about, which makes it very easy to keep in a bag and use whenever you need it. You simply plug the 3.5mm cable into your device and run the XLR output to a mixer or recorder. In my experience the balanced output helps keep the signal clean, especially over longer cable runs. The build quality is also very solid. The metal enclosure feels durable and ready for regular use on stage or on location. I also appreciate the adjustable output level, which helps dial in the right signal going into a mixer. The ground lift switch is helpful if you run into hum issues, and the mute switch is a nice touch when you need to quickly silence the signal. This is a very practical accessory to have on hand. It is compact, well built, and solves a common problem when connecting consumer devices to professional audio gear. I'm very happy with it.
