Peak Design Pro Tripod Reviews

Great combo

After owning the original peak design tripod and selling it because of its issues, especially the head, I was very pleased to find this one available at B&H Photo. I purchased the Pro, which is the middle of the range along with the video adapter head, which they call tilt, and it’s gonna serve both photo and video purposes very well. It’s heavier than I thought it might be, but extremely.

best travel tripod

I bought this tripod (aluminum) to take on a recent trip to the Arizona desert - mostly to support Nikon's beast of a lens (180 - 600 mm Z-mount). Its compact design makes it perfect for travel. The innovations in design put everything at your finger tips and quick and easy to set up. It had no problem supporting my camera with that large lens. The only thing I noticed was a little horizontal drift immediately after locking in camera position causing a delay before shooting. I suspect this is due to its light weight construction (I did not hang an external weight under it). Overall I am very happy with it and look forward to more trips.
