Excellent headset for every use

I'm still very satisfied with the BPHS2 headset in both form and sound quality. I was an avid user of the BPHS1 for many years and this is a nice improvement in three ways: weight, fit, and sound. The BPHS1 seemed heavy on my head and over time I would get a slight headache due to pressure from the headband. It has a very comfortable fit for my head size which is bigger than most, and the adjustable heights on each earphone are easy to match up. I tested the quality of the speakers by listening to dialogue in a quiet area, dialogue in a loud area (my garage with car and motorcycle engines), and music. The cushions provide a comfortably snug fit offering general noise cancellation so you don't have to turn the volume up too much, and for me the audio was fully understandable in each environment without too much volume compensation. The speakers are designed with dialogue in mind and provide crystal-clear sound in every situation, but aren't the best for mixing and monitoring whereas studio headphones would dominate. The microphone gives a clean, raw sound with pristine response and dynamics. The foam tips provide good resistance from plosives. Like other headset mics, it does sound slightly tinny on its own but some quick EQ or processing will clean it up well. I connected it to my dbx 286 and it performed phenomenally. Two accessories I'd recommend right away: get the BPCB2 XLR & 1/8" cable to have both on hand for every situation, and get an inline preamp like a Cloudlifter or FetHead for some additional gain compensation.
