Can the half bowl be removed for a flat base to use on a typical slider?
Without modifications, the Sirui VHS10 Professional Fluid Head (B&H# SIVHS10) could be used with some hi-hats on a slider. Moreover, it does allow for the tie-down to be removed in the manner shown here: https://bit.ly/4pmqpa1
There are also screws that hold the ball to the underside of the head, as shown here:

Since we cannot recommend doing anything that would invalidate the warranty, however, we cannot recommend the removal of the ball itself even though that would indeed expose the base. We must therefore answer your original question in the negative and recommend the use of a hi-hat instead.
