- The Scarlett 4i4 4th Generation can work in Standalone mode and still pass audio from the inputs to the outputs without the need for a computer. Love my older 2i2 and it still works perfectly. I bought his so there was not so much unplugging and replugging. I had this computer built for me for editing recording and it runs just about anything I throw at in..... until this. I have the drivers downloaded, it says it needs more poser so I plug in the power, same thing. The help page is pretty useless too. Great idea but not working for me. Keeps flashing red..
