TerraMaster D5-310 Overview

Protect and store your data using the D5-310 5-Bay USB 3.2 Gen 1 RAID Hard Drive Array from TerraMaster. This array supports up to five 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives in hardware-controlled RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, and Single Disk configuration with read speeds up to 248 Mb/s and write speeds up to 241 Mb/s when configured in RAID 10.

The D5-310 features a tool-free design, making hard drive installation and removal easy and simple, convenient for those who need to frequently swap drives. The USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port provides up to 5 Gb/s of data transfer and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4. The D5-310 has plug-and-play functionality, meaning no driver installation is necessary, and is compatible with Windows, Windows Server, macOS, Linux Ubuntu, and Kylin V10 SP1 operating systems.

RAID Hot Spare Disk
When the D5-310 is configured in RAID 1, 5, or 10 mode, it allows for the addition of a hot spare disk that immediately replaces a failed disk in the event of a single disk failure. This minimizes the risk of data loss in the event of a drive failure and provides protection for your data security.
RAID Risk Warning Alert
The D5-310 system will activate an audible alarm via a built-in buzzer when the RAID array experiences a missing disk or failure.
Intelligent Hard Drive Sleep
The D5-310 automatically enters sleep mode and stops its fan from spinning when the device is safely disconnected from the computer, the computer enters sleep or shutdown mode, or the USB cable is unplugged. This reduces the hard drive's operating time and minimizes wear on the motor, significantly extending lifespan.
Power-On Recovery Function
The device is equipped with a power-on recovery memory function. After normal shutdown, the device remains off upon power restoration. After abnormal power loss, it automatically restarts when power resumes, enabling automated unattended management with servers, NAS, and other devices.
Smart Temperature-Controlled Fan
The D5-310 supports work mode management by intelligently entering sleep mode along with the computer system. This design not only effectively reduces the working time of the hard drives, minimizing wear on the hard drive motors, but also extends the lifespan of the hard drives themselves. This maximizes efficient storage while also providing peace of mind in terms of protecting hard drive assets.
Safety
To ensure the safety of the device and hard drives, the D5-310 incorporates an advanced power protection design. In the event of users incorrectly connecting an incompatible power source, the device will immediately activate a built-in protection mechanism, effectively preventing damage to the device and hard drives from excessive currents or unstable voltages. This considerate design offers added peace of mind on using the D5-310, eliminating any concerns about potential losses due to power-related issues.
Automatic Backup
Make scheduled backups of your data with the user-friendly TPC Backupper software. After connecting your device to your computer and installing the client, you can set up tasks to back up folders and disk partitions from your compatible Windows PC to TerraMaster USB devices or NAS storage servers. Compatible with Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 systems, this software supports incremental and differential backup strategies, providing reliable protection to your data.
