We pre-ordered two CF7 Fresnel kits when we purchased the new Storm 400x fixtures. They were on back order for a bit, but the lenses were well worth the wait. Very smooth and even light pattern with an ample spot/zoom range. Plus, the photometrics are as claimed from the Aputure website.

I prefer this compact form factor over the Amaran

I prefer this compact form factor over the Amaran Fresnel ... but will this CF7 work on the Amaran Ray 660c?

The Aputure CF7 Fresnel & Barndoors Kit is compatible with the Amaran Ray 660c RGB LED Monolight due to the Bowens Mount on both products.

Are the barn doors removable from the Fresnel? Can

Are the barn doors removable from the Fresnel? Can the barn doors be used alone with the 400x Reflector?

The barndoors on the Aputure CF7 Fresnel & Barndoors Kit can be removed. It only works with the Fresnel. The barndoors alone do not fit onto the Aputure 400x.

Will this work on older COB lights such as the Amaran 300c?

Yes, the Aputure CF7 Fresnel & Barndoors Kit will work with the amaran 300c RGB LED Monolight since they both have a Bowens mount.
