GaN, or Gallium Nitride, is the substance used throughout the AMP17 Amp Card for DX300 Series DAPs from iBasso to drastically improve sound quality, reduce interference, and achieve near-seamless zero-cross switching speeds in your DX300, DX320, and DX340 digital audio player. GaN is joined by discrete transistors to improve many aspects of the headphone amp when compared to traditional MOSFET capabilities. GaN is designed to have a Total Miller charge (QGD) that's significantly lower, lower conduction losses at high frequencies, and faster switching speeds. The resulting audio has enhanced transient response, dynamic range, and acoustic precision. When added to your DAP, you can experience the sonic improvements through 4.4mm balanced LO and PO outputs.

iBasso AMP17 Overview
High Current and Low Resistance
AMP17's GaNFET offers low internal resistance for higher drive currents, which, when coupled with the card's low output impedance architecture, enables a more precise driving of low-impedance headphones. The sound output is made to be layered, dynamic, and highly detailed. These audio details can even be maintained for a stable experience under high-encoding or high-intensity transient signals.
Suppression of Ripple Interference
Supporting higher operating frequencies, the AMP17 with GaN is made to achieve an expansive and responsive frequency bandwidth and a marked reduction in interference by inductor ripple currents on the audio signal when compared to traditional headphone amp solutions. What you hear is analog audio that's crisp and naturally articulated.
Fast Response with Reduced Distortion
By switching to GaN versus silicon, the AMP17 can achieve near-seamless zero-cross switching. The output waveform is near ideal, producing a tonal quality that's more transparent and natural. The low-distortion signal allows nuances in your music to surface with vivid and delicate detail for an immersive listening experience.
12V Power Supply
Running off your compatible DAP's battery, the AMP17 card can provide an output power of 1030mW + 1030mW at 32 ohms. If you use the 12 VDC input on the AMP17 with an optional power supply, the full power output of 1900mW + 1900mW at 32 ohms can be achieved. This is enough to drive full-size dynamic headphones or flagship IEMs. Please note that this 12 VDC ability is not compatible with the DX300 or DX320 DAP.
