Sunpak UltraPro 643 Reviews
Great value for the money. Very lightweight and works well in the field.
Great value for the money. Very lightweight and works well in the field.
It is light, and feels decent, but the head attachment to the tripod isn't great.
I knew this was less expensive than some of the other units out there, so this isn't a surprise. And the unit appears so far to be a decent tripod. I like the carrying bad and it is light. But when we attached our scope to the tripod, we noticed that it wobbled a bit where the head attaches to the tripod. Made sure everything was tight, but still the same. Eventually I took an old small credit card sized thin info card and cut it to place it in the receptacle for the head. Once I did that, it is pretty stable. I wonder if maybe there is supposed to be some type of piece of rubber or something that is supposed to be there, or whether the head piece is just a bit too loose? So it's OK, and probably fine for the price. But if you are looking for a really nice tripod, this isn't it. At least it wasn't for us.
