Accepts Two Nikon EN-EL15 Rechargeable Batteries
Double the runtime of your Nikon Z6 III mirrorless camera. The Vello BG-N24 Battery Grip accepts two Nikon EN-EL15c/EN-EL15b rechargeable batteries so you can keep shooting over an extended time or perform power-heavy video operations. Each battery is housed in separate compartments, making it easier to hot swap the batteries even while shooting video.
Alternate Controls
Alternate buttons and dials make it comfortable to shoot in portrait orientation. The grip offers the same familiar control for shooting portraits, so your fingers feel right at home changing settings, adjusting focus points, and snapping the perfect shot.
Control Lock
A control lock allows you to quickly turn off the grip's shutter release. This prevents accidentally pressing the grip's shutter button and other controls while shooting in landscape orientation.
In-Grip Battery Charging
Charge Nikon's EN-EL15c and EN-EL15b-type batteries inside the grip without removing them using the grip's USB Type-C port. This saves you the hassle of removing the batteries and finding a charger every time you need to power them up. In-grip battery charging works only with EN-EL15c and EN-EL15b-type batteries.
Battery Hot Swap
Shoot live video and change batteries at the same time. Hot swap the first battery in the grip while capturing videos or photos without stopping your workflow.
Battery Status LEDs
LEDs on the rear of the grip light up and display each battery's charge status. This visual readout allows you to quickly identify which battery is charging and which one is full.
1/4"-20 Tripod Mount
The BG-N24 attaches to your camera's tripod socket with a 1/4"-20 mounting screw for a secure fit. A 1/4"-20 tripod socket on the bottom of the grip means your camera retains its mounting ability.

This was recommended by another photographer in order for me to have better lasting battery life as well as the option to shoot vertical. it really does help in the matter of what and how I shoot and would highly recommend.

The jury is still out

Followed all the directions. Attached the grip then put in the batteries on a Nikon Z6III. One EN-EL15c (that came with the camera) and one 15b. Squeezed of a dozen or shots and the camera went totally dead. Reseated the battery holder. There was a warning in the viewfinder. "Shutter is open. Press trigger to reset." Which I did. Fired off one or two more shots. Same thing happened. Totally dead camera. So I took out the 15b. Since then everything's been OK (fingers crossed). Put in two EN-EL 15's no problems. Put in one 15c and one 15a - no problems. So we'll see. My only guess is that the grip wasn't fully seated to the camera. As for the construction. It's OK, my only complaint is that the focus point selection knob is a bit looser than the one on the camera itself. Thus making it very easy to bump your focus setting and being so loose it becomes difficult to reset the focus point. Not a deal breaker just an annoyance. Both the camera and the grip are really designed to be charged via the USB cable. The battery holder is both a pain to insert and remove but it's very easy to swap out the "A" battery once you find the little release catch. I'm probably only going to keep one battery at a time in the grip, which is too bad because the Z6III uses a lot of juice. Great camera though - right out of the box! As for the Vello grip - much cheaper than it's Nikon's counterpart but may just be worth it.
