Ubiquiti UNAS Pro 7-Bay NAS Enclosure

Designed for large-scale file storage and sharing, the UNAS Pro 7-Bay NAS Enclosure from Ubiquiti is equipped with seven SATA III drive bays that support both 3.5" HDDs, plus 2.5" SSDs and HDDs. Network connectivity is achieved using a 1GbE RJ45 port and a 10GbE SFP+ port, while wireless accessories may be paired using Bluetooth 4.1. Also featured is a 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A57 Quad-Core processor, 8GB of memory, a 1.3" touchscreen for management, data protection with RAID technology, a 2 RU form factor. This NAS is also UniFi power backup ready.

WD 18TB Red Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD

Engineered to deliver high performance and reliability to commercial and enterprise NAS environments, the 18TB Red Pro 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD from WD is well-suited for multimedia and creative pros, medium to large businesses, and commercial and enterprise NAS systems. Able to work in RAID-optimized NAS systems with an unlimited number of drive bays, this 18TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 512MB cache, and a rotational speed of 7200 rpm, which all help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a rate of up to 272 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 600,000 load/unload cycles, < 1 in 1015 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, a workload rate of 550TB per year, dual-plane balance control technology, and 2.5 million hours MTBF. Shock protection is provided by a multi-axis shock sensor and WD's NASware helps increase system compatibility, allowing Red Pro drives to be more easily integrated with your existing network infrastructure.

Affordable NAS with super value for money.

I was hunting for an affordable NAS to replace my Time Capsule which won't work with MacOS 26. I am familiar with Ubiquiti equipment so I was immediately interested. I am very impressed by what I got out of the box: multiple RAID levels, multiple RAID pools, Time Machine support, and a user interface that's fairly intuitive for non-computer-nerds (full disclosure, I am a computer-nerd). The default installation, which took only a few minutes, configured a RAID 5 pool which would be fine for most people. I had no trouble reconfiguring it for RAID 10, and pools initialized in a brisk 11 hours. I'm really delighted with this product and it exceeded my expectations. Plus, it does exactly what I bought it for, namely, serving as a Time Capsule replacement, with my Mac's all backing up to it flawlessly.

I replaced my old QNAP with the UniFi solution to go along with my existing UniFi kit. I needed to upgrade the drives, but this package from B&H made it a no-brainer. The UniFi NAS is intuitive and easy to use… great solution for a small biz!
