Neewer F700 Overview

The F700 7" On-Camera Touchscreen Monitor from Neewer outfits you with a comprehensive interface to monitor your footage in the field. The monitor features a 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen interface with a 2000 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 160° viewing angle. This version also equips you with two NP-F750 batteries with 5200mAh capacities to power the monitor on set. An integrated ambient light sensor automatically adds brightness under daylight conditions for increased visibility.

It also features HDMI I/O that supports up to DCI 4K25 footage, as well as a wide variety of image monitoring functions. Upload custom 3D LUTs using the monitor's SD card. Multiple power options, including an NP-F battery plate, DC barrel I/O, and USB-C input, keep the monitor running all day on set. Use the included tiltable monitor mount to adjust the monitor 180° and secure it to the top of your camera.

Weird wave at 60FPS and screen tearing at 24FPS?

I bought the Neewer F700 to use with my Sony FX30, and it has been a huge disappointment. Right out of the box, the monitor exhibits two major issues: Screen tearing across the top of the display when shooting at 24 fps. A slow rolling wave/band moving across the screen at 60 fps. I've updated the firmware, tried multiple HDMI cables, changed camera settings, and tested different output configurations. None of it made a difference. The camera records perfectly and the issue only appears on the monitor. After searching online, I found that I'm far from the only person experiencing these problems, which makes it seem more like a design or compatibility issue than an isolated defect. A field monitor is supposed to provide a reliable image for focusing and monitoring exposure. Instead, I'm left wondering whether the artifacts I'm seeing are in my footage or just the monitor. That's unacceptable. Unless Neewer addresses these issues with a firmware update or improved hardware, I can't recommend the F700 to anyone using a modern Sony camera.

I bought this to use as an aid in focusing and framing landscapes with my Nikon Z6II. Once set up, it worked perfectly, providing a much more detailed view of the scene I wanted to photograph. It also worked as a monitor for my Zoom Qn 2 4K, giving me a much richer, and larger format in which to compose. I had great and responsive support from Neewer regarding an update issue. It was resolved in a short time by caring professionals.

The Neewer F700 7" On-Camera Touchscreen Monitor (B&H# NE66606445) may be used with the Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera (B&H# CAER5). To avoid any misunderstanding, the touchscreen feature of the monitor is used to adjust the settings of the monitor, not those of the camera.

Yes, you would be able to connect the HDMI output of the Nikon D300 SLR Digital Camera to the Neewer F700 7" On-Camera Touchscreen Monitor with NP-F750 Battery. The output from the D300 isn't clean so it would not be full-screen and it would show display overlays.
