AUDIOSIGMA MikeHero DSP Overview

Ideal for voiceover artists, audiobook recording, and content creation, the Audiosigma MikeHero DSP is a compact and portable audio interface featuring a single XLR mic input and a selector switch for optimal compatibility with virtually every mic type, from quiet dynamics to sensitive and power hungry condensers and shotgun mics. With a plethora of DSP processing functions, MikeHero DSP lets you take your productions on the road.

Even when powered by smart devices like iPhones and Android smartphones, the MikeHero DSP can deliver steady 48V phantom power for active microphones. DSP processing functions include noise canceling, dynamic compression (limiter), depop for eliminating plosives, an equalizer, a loopback function, and the ability to designate one of the two headphone outputs as a monitor channel. Along with the mic input, the MikeHero DSP sports 3.5mm connections for the aux input and mic output, and has an optional DC input (which is rarely needed when bus power is available via the USB-C port).

Ultraportable
Imagine being able to connect your 416 shotgun or condenser mic straight to your phone. MikeHero makes that a reality. You don't need to worry about finding a wall outlet or carrying any extra batteries. The MikeHero DSP is both lighter (0.27 lb) and smaller than a compact smartphone.
Ultrapowerful
At your fingertips you will find a plosive filter, parametric EQ, dynamic compression, and even denoise. And all that happens on the fly as you record or run a remote session live, at the hardware level.

 • Denoise: removes background noise such as HVAC, home appliances, traffice rumble, etc.
 • Limiter: ideal for recording safety, the limiter ensures you won't ever lose a recording session due to peaking ever again
 • Depop: this plosive filter was designed specifically to minimize the impact of P and B plosives without cutting into your voice
 • Equalizer: get that full-bodied and crisp voice that you would normally only hear in pro productions
 • Loopback: effortlessly add your podcast intro, background music, and make commentary on video excerpts
 • Monitor channel: playback your recording through monitor speakers without microphone feedback
Stay Mobile
MikeHero allows you to record and broadcast using just your smartphone. If you’re on the go, simply plug it to your iOS or Android device, and get online instantly. No need for batteries or external power supply.

Yes, it will generate 48V phantom power from your phone. The incredibly efficient boost power supply will transform your phone into a steady phantom power source for the most demanding condenser and shotgun microphones.

Perfect for Meetings and Calls
If you want to take your calls to the next level, MikeHero is the answer. It delivers crystal-clear audio, free from pops or wind noise. MikeHero works great with Skype, MS Teams, Google Hangouts, and more.

AUDIOSIGMA MikeHero DSP Reviews

Amazing product with more amazing customer support

Voiceover has been a constant learning curve in not just in the talent side of things but especially the tech side of things. As someone who has never been very tech savvy, I’m constantly learning and sometimes struggling with the information regarding all the engineering. I decided to upgrade my interface with the MIKEHERODSP, originally having a scarlet solo. When I first received it, I was having a bunch of tech issues and the quality wasn’t something I was looking for. However, the help of Fernando and his customer support was more than spectacular. He told me the issues of my new laptop and how it was limiting the mikeherodsp. He showed me step by step how to install, and gave me valuable information regarding all the benefits of the product. I cannot recommend this product enough and if you ever need help with it, their team and Fernando will be there to you assist you in every way.

I must admit that in a previous review I was fast to judge this little portable interface. After use and a chat with the developer of this unit I am convinced that it is actually a tough little piece of kit. First impressions it looks almost like a prototype..wrong. This portable interface is not only a rugged little dude, but full of added DSP features that surprised me. Audio Sigma is preparing a quick start guide to get us all going in lieu of going thru the entire owners manual. This interface includes a pop-plosive filter, limiter, and EQ..but my favorite is the de-noise section. All of these additions make it an “out of the box” interface that can be used with nearly any condenser or dynamic mic...even useful to record on iPhone (Twisted Wave). I recorded a national automotive spot from the back seat of my wife’s Jeep and the post production folks commented how clean and easy to drop into existing video it was. For a regional bath and home remodeler I sent a track recorded in a hotel room with a VERY noisy air conditioner. The producer was blown away. I use a Sennhiser 8060 and used a very light combination of all the presets (at different of 3 presets) My original comments on the fragile appearance is totally off base..This is a real winner. It takes a little learning and trial and error but the result is spot on. Order from B&H now and grab one as these are currently in stock..not for long when the word gets out.
