Microtech Gefell M 43 Wide Cardioid Condenser Microphone Capsule for Generation 4 Series

Part of Microtech Gefell's Generation 4 modular microphone system, the M 43 is a small-diaphragm wide cardioid condenser mic capsule made for use with MV 400 preamplifiers. Its design is refined and compact, with the lightweight polyethylene membrane providing articulation across its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response while handling high SPLs up to 148 dB and producing only 15 dBA of self-noise. The M 43's wide cardioid (aka subcardioid) polar response resembles the "midway point" between an omnidirectional and cardioid pattern. Though unidirectional (sensitive to on-axis sounds), it will also pick up sound from every direction, though with less amplitude than an omnidirectional microphone.
