The Fly Tape II Plug-In from AIR Music Technology is a desktop update of the iOS app that enables you to add the characteristics and charm of cassette tape recording to your digital music production. Mangle, stretch, and add lo-fi quality to your audio with Fly Tape II, featuring retro button controls and eight independent tape-style modes, each with additional sub controls per mode. Fly Tape II works as a plug-in with DAWs running on Windows and Mac Systems that support AU, VST2, and VST4 plug-in protocols, and also work in standalone mode on MPC systems.
Format
Fly Tape II is designed to support VST2 and VST3 plug-in hosts and run on MPC standalone and desktop systems. This software requires an internet connection for authorization. You will need to install Akai's MPC desktop software version 2.15.1 or later to use desktop versions of the plug-ins.
Character Modes
- Speed—Select from four variable tape speeds to dial in the classic ½, ¼, and additional cassette speeds
- Saturation—Explore one of three powerful overdrive modes: Boost, Amp, and Drive. From subtle harmonic enhancement to tube-style distortion
- Mute and Reverse—Chop, pause, or flip your audio on the fly
- Warble—Seven expressive variations of wow and flutter that simulate the gentle imperfections of retro cassette tape
- Lo-Fi—Choose from eight preset variations, each offering a level of intentionally imperfect and unpolished audio
- Brake—Recreate the sound of tape coming to a physical stop with four variations of tape brake duration
- Stutter—Slice your audio into rhythmic fragments with options for eight distinct timing functions
