What is the payload capacity of this tripod?
What is the payload capacity of this tripod?
The strength of the tripod (which is mostly plastic with an aluminum ball, and the center column held by friction) is not really the limiting factor so much as the balance of the camera. The height of the tripod is about double the width of the footprint, so if your camera's center of gravity is not in line with the mounting screw, it will want to tip. For example a compact mirrorless camera a lens longer than a pancake is definitely too tippy for this tripod when extended to full height.
