DJI Mavic 4 Pro Overview

Elevating aerial cinematography once again with a leap forward in both design and functionality is the Mavic 4 Pro Drone from DJI. The standard hanging gimbal of the previous generation is gone, replaced with a ball-shaped 360° Infinity Gimbal at the front of the body, improving the Mavic 4 Pro's aerodynamics within an upgraded triple-camera system. The wide-angle Hasselblad now offers 100MP stills, an adjustable aperture, and up to 6K60 HDR video. This is joined by a 48MP medium tele and 50MP standard tele for 4K60 HDR video. Low-light shooting is a big focus with a 0.1-lux nightscape omnidirectional obstacle avoidance system and front LiDAR. Additionally, video transmission, flight time, vertical shooting, and vehicle tracking have all been improved.
To Infinity and Beyond
The unique ball-shaped Infinity Gimbal offers a wide range of movement that includes 360° of rotation. This allows you to achieve aerial Dutch angles and other creative, dramatic, and gravity-defying movements. It is also capable of 70° upward shooting, letting you capture awe-inspiring framing of mountains and tall urban structures.
Triple-Camera System
Within the Infinity Gimbal is a trio of camera lenses that let pilots cover image and video capture of a huge variety of content, with an emphasis on nature, architecture, and wildlife. The most advanced is a Hasselblad-designed 100MP wide-angle lens with an adjustable aperture for capturing clean low-light shots and 10-ray starburst effects.

Video tops out at a stunning 6K60 HDR with support for the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS), a renowned standard of color fidelity. It's joined by a 48MP medium tele for compressed perspectives that highlight subjects for portraits, and a 50MP standard tele for incredibly clear long-range results that reduce depth perception and flatten perspective. All three share an enviable set of additional features.

  • 4K60 HDR video (up to 6K60 HDR for 100MP Hasselblad)
  • Slow-motion video at up to 4K120 (Hasselblad and medium tele) and 4K100 (tele)
  • Dual native ISO fusion that seamlessly blends the best of high and low ISO settings
  • High-resolution raw stacking of up to five frames
  • Free Panorama and Subject Focusing modes
  • 10-bit D-Log profiles for consistent color
Improved Tracking
ActiveTrack is upgraded to ActiveTrack 360 on the Mavic 4 Pro. The most important difference is the ability to now track autonomously, where the drone makes navigation decisions on its own. With the Mavic 4 Pro's low-light abilities, tracking is improved under city lights or at twilight. Tracking can even keep focus if the lower half of the subject is partially obscured during the shot. There's also better directional awareness and a range up to 656' when detecting vehicles, significantly improving automotive cinematography.
Night Flight
For safe nighttime filming, six high-performance low-light fisheye sensors provide 0.1-lux sensitivity for omnidirectional obstacle sensing. Dual processors help achieve obstacle avoidance at speeds of up to 40 mph in low-light conditions, such as street light illumination. This visual system ensures accurate positioning in near-pitch-black places and those with poor satellite signals. If light falls to below 0.1 lux, the Mavic 4 Pro's forward-facing LiDAR can still detect obstacles for quick braking and collision avoidance.
Low-Light RTH
Getting your Mavic 4 Pro home safely is more of a certainty than ever before, thanks to Nighttime RTH and Non-GPS RTH features. With Nighttime RTH, the forward-facing LiDAR can detect and avoid obstacles in low-light conditions. Non-GPS RTH uses the real-time vision positioning system and onboard map construction technologies to memorize flight paths in adequate lighting, even when taking off from locations without satellite signals.
O4+ Transmission
Better know what you're capturing from the ground with DJI's O4+ video transmission technology that delivers 10-bit HDR quality footage from up to 18.6 miles away. O4+ also features improved algorithms that help reduce disconnections in high-interference environments, such as in urban areas, and optimizes transmission during multi-drone flights.
Quick Transfer
There's no need to turn on the Mavic 4 Pro to transfer your clips and images. With Quick Transfer, leave the drone in your bag and use the DJI Fly mobile app to wake it for up to 80 MB/s transfers using Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax). If Wi-Fi is not an option, you can always connect the drone to your PC via USB without having to power it on.
512GB Creator Combo
This version of the Mavic 4 Pro includes the 512GB Creator Combo, which features an upgraded remote and improved video capture capabilities over the standard release, along with a selection of additional accessories to keep you in the air longer. Unlike the standard Mavic 4 Pro's built-in 64GB of capacity, the Creator Combo version has a built-in 512GB SSD drive. Along with the significant increase in storage, this Mavic 4 Pro supports 10-bit 4:2:2 video through All-I encoding for richer color detail, as well as time-lapse photography. Time-lapse shots can be done in intervals as short as one second.

The remote for this model is the RC Pro 2 instead of the RC 2, which features a bright 7" Mini-LED screen. Other additional accessories include three total intelligent flight batteries, a parallel charging hub, four pairs of spare propellers, a high-speed USB-C data cable, a 240W power adapter, and a convenient shoulder bag to safely store and carry your gear.

Additional Details
  • Up to 51 minutes of flight time
  • Up to 60 mph top speed
  • RC Pro 2 remote controller with 7" Mini-LED display

DJI Mavic 4 Pro Reviews

Backup drone — Just in case

I've been flying DJI drones for several years. The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is my best imaging drone. It performs great in flight. Great images. Long battery life. Purchased this as a backup. Why a backup? Because I take chances flying low and close to create immersive video. The LIDAR, back- and side-facing cameras, and proximity warning have saved me on several collisions. This drone has more features than I regularly need. I wholeheartedly recommend this camera drone.

Best of the best.

I've been flying drones since 2105 and have been an FAA certified Part 107 UAS Pilot since 2018. I've owned (practically) every drone DJI has produced over the years and a few off brands as well, but the 4Pro is far and away the best of the lot. There are other DJI models more expensive and serve other purposes, but for what I do, this is the best on the market. From real estate photography to commercial aerial work to documenting EPA superfund site remediation projects, the quality of the images and videos this drone produces is always top quality. I have hovered this over a highway construction project where 2 massive cranes were moving 80 foot long steel girders into position for 47 minutes without moving and the work got done before I had a battery problem. The unique 360 degree camera gimbal rotation feature is fun to play with, but has no real-world application for what I do. It's just fun to watch the terrain rotate as you fly. Whether the 100 megapixel camera actually produces 100 megapixel results is impossible to determine, even if it is a Hasselblad camera. The largest megapixel Hasselblad camera I know of is the H6D-400C with a $48,000 price tag. It's essentially a 100 Megapixel camera that uses multi-shot technology to produce massive 400 megapixel images, so I'm guessing the camera on this $3000 drone may not have that capability, but the images it does produce are spectacular. Shooting raw and exporting them into a PDF format, I've had 4 x 6 foot posters made that come out tack sharp. It's easy to fly and has all the safety sensors in place to keep it from having flight issues. I changed out the standard RC Controller for the RC 2 Pro with it's larger screen and additional features and I couldn't be happier. Costly? Well, yeah, but if this is what you do and are not just a hobbyist posting videos on Facebook, it's well worth the money. The images I uploaded had to be reduced significantly to adhere to B&H images size restriction of 10MB. These were originally 12,000 x 3,700 pixel images and I had to reduce them to 1000 x 600so they may no be as impressive as they actually are. Same story with the video. This is a 1GB video and I had to reduce it to under 100MB. Sorry about that.

other than the screen size what is the difference between the RC Remote and the RC Pro Remote?

The DJI Mavic 4 Pro Drone with Fly More Combo (BH # DJM4PFMCRC2) includes the DJI RC 2 Remote Controller. The RC Pro 2 version has a larger, 10-bit color, brighter screen for visibility in sunlight, a longer battery duration per charge, and an HDMI output port. The huge display lifts up from the controller on an integrated stand, tilting to your preferred angle. As it rises, the twin thumb sticks automatically raise into place. You can even rotate the display for capturing vertical videos.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your inquiry! According to the currently published official information for the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, the aircraft is designed to be operated with a single compatible DJI remote controller, handling both flight control and camera operation. A dual-operator mode, where separate operators independently control the aircraft and the camera, is not listed as a standard supported feature. The Mavic 4 Pro is optimized for an integrated single-operator workflow, combining advanced imaging performance, flexible gimbal movement, and robust transmission capabilities to support professional aerial shooting.
