The Sunpak PlatinumPlus 4200XL Travel Tripod with 3-way pan head is compact, lightweight, and able to fit into most kit bags. It has a load capacity of 2.6 lb, maximum height of 42", and folded length of 11". Featuring all-metal legs, it weighs only 13.8 oz, has eight leg sections, twist locks, and non-scratching, nonslip rubber feet. The head sports a 1/4"-20 screw mount. It can be rotated 360°, tilted 90°, and swiveled easily using the integrated extra long handle.

This is a very inexpensive, lightweight tripod, and only extends to 42", so needs to be evaluated within that context. I wanted to bring a small, lightweight tripod on a cruise and didn't want to pack a bulkier, heavier tripod. I want to use it to try some hyperlapse (time lapse) video clips with an action camera. This seems sturdier than the selfie stick tripods when extended because this uses more traditional wider spread legs for more stability, and there are segment spring locks which would work with limited weight, but better than selfie stick friction segments. Not sure this would handle larger mirrorless cameras, but should be fine for smaller lighter camera equipment or lights.
