The Patton Fiberplex VIM-1832-E-02 is the rackmount tail end of a professional 32x8 fiberoptic audio transport system, designed for seamless integration with the VRK/VIS-1832 or VIS-4832. Ideal for stage-to-FoH, drive snake, broadcast, and large-venue audio distribution, this unit delivers high-capacity analog and digital connectivity over robust multimode fiber using a Neutrik OpticalCon Duo interface.
Providing 32 analog line-level and 32 AES digital outputs (simultaneous sends) plus 8 analog or 8 AES digital inputs (returns), the VIM-1832-E-02 serves as the master clock source for the complete system. It supports both 48 and 96 kHz clock operation, offers wordclock and super-clock I/O on BNC, and can also slave to an external reference. Clear front- and rear-panel sync LEDs provide at-a-glance clock status for reliable deployment in mission-critical environments.
A dedicated fiber thru port passes a freshly regenerated optical signal for distribution to additional locations—making long-distance, multi-node systems easy to build. Integration with LightViper accessories is equally straightforward: the EtherCon TTL control port supports devices such as the DMX4i for DMX lighting control or MD-3 for RS-422/-232/MIDI routing, enabling both audio and control data to travel together over a unified fiber backbone. Designed for global touring and permanent installations alike, the VIM-1832-E-02 operates on 90 to 250 VAC, 50/60 Hz via a standard IEC connector and supports fiber runs up to 1.24 miles in multimode.
