The Audinate High-Availability Support Upgrade brings enterprise-grade redundancy to Silver and Gold Dante Domain Manager (DDM) licenses, delivering the same High Availability (HA) capability included with the Platinum tier. This add-on is designed for mission-critical Dante environments where uptime, reliability, and system continuity are essential.
High Availability provides a fully redundant server architecture that allows a backup (auxiliary) DDM server to automatically take over if the primary server becomes unavailable. All configuration data on the active server is continuously replicated in real time, ensuring that if a failure occurs, the auxiliary server can immediately assume control. Dante devices and controllers then reconnect to the active server—using a shared virtual IP address—minimizing interruption and preserving ongoing audio flows.
A complete High-Availability deployment uses three coordinated servers: a primary (active) server, an auxiliary (backup) server, and an arbiter. The arbiter acts as the decision-maker during network partition events, ensuring only one server becomes active at a time. If fewer than two servers are reachable, DDM automatically enters a protected read-only mode to prevent configuration conflicts while maintaining all existing audio subscriptions. Normal control and configuration resume as soon as availability is restored.
By integrating High Availability into DDM, organizations achieve rapid failover, improved resilience, and smooth operational continuity—even in the event of hardware or network outages. It is ideal for environments where system stability and zero-downtime audio are critical.
