Designed as a powerful studio hub for producers, engineers, and bands, the Antelope Discrete 8 Oryx is a 26x38 USB-C audio interface featuring eight discrete XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs with up to 130 dB of gain. With a huge array of I/O for connecting almost any device, pristine conversion and clocking, and Synergy Core FX onboard, this interface fits an entire studio in 1 RU.

The Discrete Oryx 8 utilizes 64-bit AFC to distribute clocking to up to three independent wordclock BNC outputs. With the virtual patchbay, you can engage in expansive routing duties, making it easy to create complex routings via the interface's extensive connectivity, including hybrid workflows with simultaneous analog and digital connections. You can also provide up to four independent headphone mixes (with spatial crossfeeding) for the four front-panel 1/4" headphone outs. Further connectivity includes eight DC-coupled outputs, stereo reamp and monitor outputs, digital expansion via 2-channel S/PDIF I/O, up to 16 channels of optical ADAT I/O, and a 24-channel USB-C host connection, which supports up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. With 37 real-time FX and the Synergy Core FX platform, you can process your signals and even emulate microphones with virtually nonexistent latency, keeping your workflow fast and efficient.

At the heart of the Discrete 8 Oryx are the latest AD/DA converters (up to 130 dB of headroom) and fourth-generation 64-bit AFC clocking. Together, they deliver wider stereo imaging, depth, and detail that go far beyond the specs of the converter chips alone. The Discrete 8 Oryx features eight discrete Class-A microphone preamps, each crafted with six transistors and inspired by the circuitry of legendary recording consoles. The result is exceptional clarity, depth, and an ultralow noise floor, along with an upgraded 75 dB of gain to accommodate even the most demanding microphones. All eight inputs are DC-coupled and support both XLR and line-level TS/TRS connections, while the two front-panel inputs can also be switched to Hi-Z for direct instrument recording.

Use any of the eight mic inputs or the built-in front-panel talkback mic to communicate directly through your monitor and headphone outputs. The footswitch input works with either a single footswitch (1/4" TS jack) to control the dim function, or a dual footswitch to manage both the talkback and dim controls simultaneously.
