Designed squarely with transparency and minimal noise in mind, the Radial Engineering Nuance Select is a desktop monitor controller featuring the ability to switch between two different input sources and two sets of speakers, plus a subwoofer. With Class-A circuitry and no capacitors in the signal path, this controller offers supremely low-noise performance.
The Nuance Select features two stereo inputs for two sources which can be switched between, two stereo outputs for independent speaker setups, a mono subwoofer output, an assignable stereo aux output, and two front-panel headphone outputs with independent amps and volume control. Speaker outputs and source inputs are balanced. Precision control is easy and quiet with a 21-step attenuator that sports gold contacts and carefully selected resistors. The Class-A Clarity Circuit uses DC servos only, no capacitors, ensuring such low noise that it can barely be measured with modern equipment. With typical Mono, Mute, and Dim selections, you get all the expected control of a modern studio monitor controller with as little sonic coloration as possible. The Nuance Select includes an external DC power supply with locking XLR 4-pin connector.
- Clarity Circuit provides extremely low THD of 0.00001%
- Class-A circuitry eliminates zero-cross distortions
- Ultralow-noise internal power supply
- No capacitors: Nuance Select uses resistors and DC servos only
- The Nuance Select features two sets of stereo source inputs, along with two sets of balanced 1/4" TRS outputs for powered speakers.
- A subwoofer output is also included that can be activated with either set of speakers as desired.
- Two independent headphone amplifiers are available for monitoring or control room tracking.
- Each headphone output can be assigned to its own stereo source, so you can feed a cue mix to an artist while monitoring the main mix yourself.
- The headphone outputs are provided on easily accessible front-panel jacks.
- A stereo aux output is available on the rear panel that can be used to feed an additional headphone amplifier for live room tracking.
