ASUS GX10 Overview

Featuring the NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, the ASUS Ascent GX10 AI Workstation delivers petaflop-scale performance for full-stack AI development and deployment while occupying a stackable metal chassis. The ASUS Ascent GX10 is designed for AI developers building secure, long-running agentic workflows, with compatibility across frameworks, such as OpenClaw and NemoClaw, supporting private on-device inference, sandboxed execution, and governed data access.

Inside this system is a combined Cortex-X925 10-Core and Cortex-A725 10-Core CPU with 128GB of unified LPDDR5x memory and a 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, delivering the performance for local AI workloads such as prototyping, fine-tuning and inference, and data science applications. Four USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 ports are available, one of which serves as a power input for the included 240W adapter while the other three work with up to 20 Gb/s compatible peripherals. There is also an HDMI 2.1 port for external displays. Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) support and a 10 Gb/s RJ45 Ethernet port provide high-speed connections to compatible networks. The NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC adapter allows you to scale performance by linking up to two Ascent GX10 systems together to handle large models with 405 billion parameters. The NVIDIA DGX OS operating system is preinstalled.

Outstanding local AI machine, keep eye on cooling

I run three ASUS Ascent GX10s as a cluster in my home lab, and I’m extremely happy with them. The 128 GB of unified memory and the built-in ConnectX-7 networking make it possible to link the units directly with QSFP cables and run a large language model across all three. It serves my daily AI work 24/7, fast and reliable. Setup was straightforward, the build quality is excellent, and the units are compact and quiet for what they deliver. For local AI at this level, nothing else comes close in this size and price range. My one concern is heat under sustained load. One of my three units runs noticeably hotter than the other two with identical firmware, software and workload, and it throttled under heavy load. Other owners report thermal shutdowns, so I’m watching it closely. Good airflow helps, and so do an extra exhaust fan, a GPU clock limit and keeping CPU-heavy threads off the performance cores. With those in place it now runs stable with a good safety margin. I hope ASUS adds smarter fan control in a future firmware update. Even with that caveat, I’d buy them again.
