Godox XR Reviews

Nearly perfect!

After trying the Bolt unit (which did not support i-TTL) and the larger X3, I switched to this one for easier packing. It does everything right and is >much< smaller than the X2 it replaced. While this may sound weird, I wish it had a "hot shoe" on the bottom instead of the "cold shoe", because I use it to trigger the Nikon camera remotely; it it had a "hot shoe" and was designed correctly, I could put a flash in its hot shoe and get i-TTL metering - not a big deal.

Gives old life to SB800 and 580EXii

It seems to be a solid unit, like the previous version. Hold SET button in for a couple second to bring up the choice between Canon and Nikon. If using Nikon, you must set the flash unit to TTL. You can still set your transmitter to manual and it will manually control your flash regardless of what your flash screen states. When I set my SB800 to manual - it will default to full power. Your transmitter will still control the zoom, but the flash will fire full [or where ever you set the flash]. Overall, it really gives new life to these older but great flash units.

The PocketWizard Plus Ve Transceiver (2-Pack) supports Auto-Relay mode. It does not have a repeater mode. It has a long-range mode. And that works up to 4 miles. And it is compatible with the PocketWizard Plus Xe.

Is this TTL compatible with Nikon SB600 flashes when triggered by Godox X3 Pro on a Nikon D850?

If using the flash in manual mode, you must set the flash to TTL. It will say TTL on the flash, but you will be able to change the flash power manually if setting the transmitter to manual.
