Thanks to a unique thermal control design that quickly conducts heat, this drive will remain cool, even during heavy usage. Lexar DataShield 256-bit AES encryption helps keep your data safe, while a durable metal design is rated IP54 for dust and water. The SL500 can also withstand drops up to 6.6', includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, and is compatible with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Harmony OS.

Note: To achieve maximum advertised speeds, please make sure your computer or host device is certified to support the 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 connection. Apple devices, including those with Thunderbolt/USB4, do not support 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 and will be limited to 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2.

Works great but the drive only came w a USB-C to USB-A cable. For a modern drive like this I'm shocked it didn't come with either both types, or at least USB-C on both ends. Small thing, yes, but feels like an oversight!

Comes with Lexar DataShield 256 - bit AES encryption and Lexar Recovery Tool for file protection and retrieval.

This drive looks bellied in the middle and thinner

This drive looks bellied in the middle and thinner on the edges. Does it sit flat on a desk or would it rock side to side?

The Lexar 2TB SL500 USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Portable SSD, BH #LEES5MPSSD2T, is tapered from both sides. So while it won't sit flat, the design helps with heat dissipation.
