Compact and fully-featured, the MFC-L5710DW All-in-One Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer from Brother, is a great choice for space-conscious offices as it fits printing, scanning, copying, and faxing all within a single unit. Also, the printing capabilities are very good with a max resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi and print speeds of up to 48 ppm. The printer can also work with documents up to 8.5 x 14" in size using the 250-sheet input tray or one-sheet manual feed slot. Scanning, copying, and faxing is made possible through the inclusion of an 8.5 x 11" flatbed and a legal-size 50-sheet ADF. This ADF enables automatic duplexing for scanning and copying and multi-sheet faxing. For operation, the MFC-L2750DW XL has a 3.5" color touchscreen LCD, which enables various direct printing and scanning options. Additionally, it features Wi-Fi connectivity alongside standard USB 2.0 and Ethernet, for completely wireless operation and support for direct printing from mobile devices.

This printer is replacing an older Brother unit -- while its printed count was not high, several components needed replacing -- and buying this printer made more economic sense. The interface is much improved, and the 2-sided scanning is a great feature. Print quality is excellent, along with familiar features like an automatic document feeder, bypass tray for label stock, envelopes, etc., and wireless connectivity for various laptops and mobile devices that are often offered in higher-priced offerings. A good choice for home office or small business use.

Drivers not ready for prime time

1200 dpi is NICE. The 5710dw print is crisp. I use an ethernet connection and it prints blazingly fast. My problem is the driver. Print preview is fuzzy. I think it would be fine with TrueType, but they include a separate program for viewing PDFs. The PRINT icon is disabled in the iprint&scan software. And, scanning directly from the printer to a PC file is problematic. I would also like to have more capability within the touchscreen. I contacted Brother Support. They told me to contact Microsoft. I was never able to get anyone to understand the problem, much less to get a fix. Bottom Line: I am happy with the printer, and I would recommend it as a good value for the price. FYI: I have only had the product for a couple of weeks.

The Brother MFC-L5710DW All-in-One Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer (B&H# BRMFCL5710DW) accepts only one color of toner (black), so it only prints in black.
