The Lens Hood ES-73B from Canon is a dedicated lens hood for the Canon 45mm f/1.2 STM. The lens hood protects the front glass element from scratches and bumps, and blocks sunlight and other light sources to prevent glare and lens flare while shooting.

I know to many it seems silly to spend $60 on a lens hood for a sub-$500 lens, but I think it's worth paying for a high-quality Canon lens hood if you use the lens a lot. It goes on easily, clicks into place, and feels secure. There isn't much to say about a lens hood, but this one is high quality and delivers as I hoped it would!
