Purpose built as efficient data storage and backup solutions for small businesses, the TeraStation WS5020 IoT 16TB 4-Bay Rackmount NAS Server from Buffalo runs on the Windows Server IoT 2025 for Storage Workgroup operating system and integrates seamlessly into Windows-based environments and Microsoft services such as Azure and OneDrive. It can act as a multi-purpose file server, a central backup hub for all your files, an NVR server for security cameras, or a subscription-free backup and disaster recovery (BDR) appliance.
Built with a rackmount form factor, the TeraStation WS5020 is driven by a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom C3338 2-Core processor and 8GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. It features four hot-swappable drive bays, each of which is populated with a 4TB 3.5" SATA III hard drive, giving users access to an overall storage capacity of 16TB. Connect to networks via one 10GbE and two Gigabit Ethernet ports, while RAID 0, 1, and 5 provide improved performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who not need a RAID, JBOD is also available. Additional connectivity options include three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and one VGA port.
Please note that the TeraStation WS5020 comes preconfigured as RAID 5, which uses one of the 4TB drives for data redundancy, leaving three drives available for use. As such, users will have access to 12TB of storage.
The NAS integrates seamlessly into Windows environments, with the familiar Windows Server interface minimizing training needs. It also offers the latest Windows Server features including data deduplication and Active Directory with enhanced security and greater scalability.
