I have a Diety PR-4 Recorder. At the moment, no retailer nor B & H have Diety batteries in stock. Unlike many other seemingly compatible F550 batteries, this one actually FITS in the recorder (I tried several that were too big). It is a high capacity battery, like Diety’s own. Finally, the price is just about half of Diety‘s own offering. We’ll see how it works out but so far so good.
I own several generic NP-F970 batteries used to power an external monitor recorder for longer shoots but they can be quite cumbersome. I was looking for smaller and lighter NP-F style batteries to use for shorter duration B roll, interviews, pickups etc. I noticed despite their smaller size these Tilta NP-F550s have 800 more mAh than average NP-F550s. Like Goldie Hawn in Private Benjamin I found myself asking is green the only color these come in? But it is an extremely minor compromise to get the extra run time. Two of these Titla batteries can power a BMD VA 12G HDR monitor recording BRAW for over two hours. More than enough for the smaller and lighter grab and go intended use case.
