NiSi JetMag Pro Adapter Ring Reviews

Cap won't stay on.

I have yet to go out with my camera and Nisi filter when the cap does't fall off. I know it has a lock but if the cap spins just a bit the lock is no longer engaged. Fortunately I have always been able to find the cap. Once I found it back at the trailhead where someone found it and put it in a place to find it. I like the convenience but I'm always nervous about losing the cap.

Poor, insecure design - returned

I bought this step-down ring to go with the NiSi JetMag Pro 100mm Filter Holder Kit (BH# NIMJM82M100K • MFR #NIMJM82M100K). The step-down ring is required so that you can attach the filter holder to a lens barrel. Despite its name it is NOT magnetic. The ring attaches to the filter holder with a sort of bayonet mount that does not tighten and is definitely not secure. I was afraid if I used it for an actual shoot (I bought it for the August 2026 solar eclipse) that it might fall off mid-shoot because there is no way to secure it tightly. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so did a video chat with a B&H product specialist. After testing the product himself, he agreed with me that it was poorly designed and he recommended that I return it, so that's what I am doing. I am replacing it with a Tiffen product that appears to be more secure (the customer service representative tested it, too), but I haven't received it yet, so I can't review it from experience. In any case, definitely avoid the Nisi filter holder and step up/down rings - I wouldn't trust my filters or my shoot to this very flimsy design. Thanks to B&H customer service, however, for helping me work through the problem and identify a (hopefully) better solution.

Will this ring work with the Neewer magnetic filters?

The filter holder system and rings are aluminum and are NOT magnetic. The mechanism for securing them is a bayonet system that leaves the filter holder loose and insecure. There is no way to tighten it. I purchased a holder and step down ring for a Nisi square filter I had purchased earlier. Once it arrived and I saw how it worked, I contacted B&H customer service. The rep tested it himself, agreed with me that it was poorly designed, and suggested I return it - which I did. I would not recommend this product even for Nisi filters. I wouldn't risk my filters or my photo shoot to this product. Nisi needs to come up with a more secure design.
