Epson Legacy Baryta II Reviews

Paper is great but the roll sent was most likely from old stock.

Upon opening the box I noticed that the plastic bag sealing the paper within the Epson shipping box was discolored and stained yellow. The paper is fine and doesn't reveal any cracking or damage but I lost the first eight or ten inches to this staining. I can only assume it was sitting on a shelf for several years. Beyond this mild irritation, the paper is beautiful. I think I may even prefer it to the Legacy Platine. I highly recommend this second version of Baryta. In my opinion, the surface has the perfect amount of texture

surface is very close to legacy platine

I've just been printing B&W with it, and the paper prints OK, (maybe useful as a less-expensive version of platine?) BUT the 8 1/2 x 11 package I received might have been run over by a truck, the pages show a slight but noticeable indentation. And the cut edges look like the knife that was used for the cuts wasn't quite sharp enough. The cuts were clean but the knife pulled the edges down, noticeable when you run a finger over the paper. I also noticed that the packaging isn't quite as sturdy as typical Epson Legacy packages.
