Built to fit a single PCIe 4.0 x4 card (x16 mechanical slot), the Mercury Helios 5S allows you to expand the connectivity of your compatible Mac, Windows PC, or Linux computer. The Mercury Helios 5S features three 80 Gb/s Thunderbolt 5 ports and one Thunderbolt 5 host port. The three Thunderbolt 5 ports can each provide 15W of power delivery. The Mercury Helios 5S expands the functionality of your Mac or PC with ease.

PCIe Cards Supported
  • Mechanical: x16 slot and enclosure support cards up to half-length, full-height, and double-width
  • Bandwidth: PCIe 4.0 x4 Cards that require a minimum of x8 or more PCIe lanes are not supported
  • GPUs are not supported
  • If the card requires a driver, it must be Thunderbolt-aware
  • Cards that require more than 75W are not supported

The Mercury Helios 5S can support up to three 8K displays @ 60 Hz or two 8K displays @ 120 Hz.

Does the Helios 5s work with Thunderbolt 3 & 4 or only Thunderbolt 5?

The OWC Mercury Helios 5S Thunderbolt 5 PCIe Expansion Solution would be backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4; however, you would be limited to their max speeds.
