This Baseplate connects your camera to the separately available LemurStrap shoulder strap or any strap that can be fed through its two slots. Attach it to the bottom of your camera via the quick release adapter plate with 1/4"-20 male screw. An integrated pin allows you to quickly release your camera with a push of the button. The compartment under the bottom pad of the baseplate stores a T-25 wrench that can be used to tighten or loosen the included adapter plate.

LemurStrap B002 Reviews
Not as advertised
The idea of a flat laying baseplate always appealed to me way more than using the cameras eyelets. However the baseplate I received was not as advertised in the pictures. The part where the strap can attach are small circles instead of the large looking rectangular openings in the stock photos. I intended to use my peak design anchor connectors and can't. Now I have to pay for return shipping.
Clever Concept
This review is for the Lemurstrap Baseplate only. B&H had the product in stock and delivered within 48 hours. It arrived well packaged in perfect condition. I purchased because I was fond of the idea of hanging the camera from the baseplate (bottom) instead of at eye level by using the cameras eyelets where straps can sometimes get in the way of your thumb & hand. The lemur baseplate arrived packed neatly like a candy bar with an *Attention* sticker making users aware of the required 7.4 foot pounds of force to safely secure the baseplate screw to the camera body before each use. There is a QR code on the label directing you to watch the set up process. In use: After installing, It just seems too wobbly on the camera body. As much as technically this “7.4 lb force” might be mechanically fit to hold the baseplate securely. To my liking, hiking around with the camera rubbing against my clothing all day I wasn’t going to test drive this products stay tightness. Why Though? See the attached photo. With the baseplate firmly attached (at least 7lbs of force). There is too much no contact area with the camera body. To scale it, there is enough space between the camera body and the baseplate to fit credit cards that slide in easily after securing the baseplate properly. This is probably a result of trying to introduce a camera baseplate thats designed to work securely on every camera. Note: Camera is Nikon Z8. I gave it 4 stars because I want to like it.
