The TOA IR-842PMU-AM is a compact, portable infrared classroom soundfield system designed to deliver clear, intelligible audio in flexible teaching environments. Developed as a portable evolution of TOA’s IR-800 Infrared Classroom Voicelift system, the IR-842PMU allows educators to quickly set up and pack away a professional voicelift solution, transforming nearly any indoor space into an effective learning environment.
Infrared Voicelift Performance
Designed for use with TOA IR-200M handheld, IR-300 hands-free, or IR-310 hands-free infrared wireless microphones, the IR-842PMU provides high sensitivity and clear sound reproduction. Its built-in Class-D amplifier delivers 40W of rated output, with up to 80W maximum output when used with an optional sub unit speaker. A 5.5" full-range speaker driver and wide 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response help ensure consistent speech intelligibility throughout the room.
Portable Design with Flexible Mounting
While optimized as a stow-and-go portable system, the IR-842PMU is also designed for longer-term installations. The main unit supports multiple mounting options, including the supplied C-bracket for wall mounting or an optional pole-mount adapter, allowing the system to adapt to a wide range of classroom layouts and temporary learning spaces.
Connectivity and Expansion
Bluetooth functionality allows the IR-842PMU to wirelessly connect to classroom projectors or multimedia systems for amplified playback. Direct connections are also supported for flexible integration. System configuration is handled through a rear-panel control interface, enabling quick and simple setup. Coverage and reception can be further expanded by adding optional IR-842PSU sub-units, making the system scalable for larger or more complex spaces.
