The WS-5265-AM from TOA is a professional UHF wireless handheld microphone system designed for reliable speech and general-purpose sound reinforcement applications. The system combines the WM-5265-AM handheld wireless microphone transmitter with the WT-5810-AM diversity desktop wireless receiver, delivering stable wireless performance for venues ranging from conference rooms and houses of worship to multi-purpose halls and auditoriums.
Handheld Transmitter Performance
The WM-5265-AM handheld microphone/transmitter employs a dynamic microphone capsule with a cardioid pickup pattern, providing focused sound capture while reducing off-axis noise and feedback. A PLL-synthesizer system offers 64 selectable operating frequencies for flexible frequency coordination, while high RF output power ensures stable radio signal transmission. The transmitter features a built-in antenna and an ON/OFF power switch designed to prevent rolling when placed on flat surfaces. Power is supplied by either a single AA battery or an optional WB-2000 Ni-MH rechargeable battery. When used with the optional BC-5000-2 battery charger and WB-2000 battery, up to approximately 13 hours of continuous operation is available.
Diversity Wireless Reception
The included WT-5810-AM receiver is a PLL-synthesizer controlled, double superheterodyne diversity tuner designed for dependable UHF wireless operation. Space diversity operation automatically selects the stronger of two antenna signals for processing, helping to maintain consistent reception. A built-in compander noise reduction circuit minimizes the influence of ambient RF noise, while automatic frequency scanning simplifies setup. The system supports operation of up to 16 simultaneous receivers.
Monitoring, Control, and Connectivity
Front-panel indicators on the receiver provide clear visual status of RF reception, transmitter battery condition, and AF peak levels. User controls include channel selection keys with channel number display, a 7-step adjustable squelch, RF check function, and output volume control. Rear-panel connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced 1/4" audio outputs, along with an audio mixing input and output for flexible system integration. The receiver features a compact, portable desktop design and is powered via an included AC adapter.
