The TK Audio TEQ Two-Band Extended Dual-Mono Baxandall Equalizer is a dual-mono EQ that calls upon the much loved and revered Baxandall circuit, a staple for engineers since the 1950's.
The shape and slope of the "Bax" EQ is what sets it apart; its smooth shelves offer a very pleasing and strangely familiar tone range. With 21-position cut/boost switches, selectable peak/shelving, and 10 frequencies for each band, the TEQ allows the user to have ultrafine control over cut and boost down to 0.25 dB steps at the initial positions. Cut/boost controls boast an extended range switch for a maximum range up to ±8 dB. The high-pass and low-pass filters use a 12 dB parameter with 6 frequencies each, with separate control over not only left and right, but mid and side as well.
- 30 / 45 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 180 / 240 / 360 / 480 / 720 Hz (switch for shelf or peak mode)
High Frequencies:
- 1k / 1.5k / 2k / 3k / 4k / 6k / 8k / 12k / 16k / 24 kHz (switch for shelf or peak mode)
Cut/Boost:
- ±0.25 / 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4 dB (with extended range activated, the maximum cut/boost range is extended to ±8 dB with steps not exactly x2)
High-Pass Filter (12 dB/octave):
- 20 / 25 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 Hz (single control for both channels)
Low-Pass Filter (12 dB/octave):
- 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 22 / 27 kHz (single control for both channels)
Switches and Materials:
- Cut and boost, HPF and LPF use rotary switches with gold contacts
- Low and Hi band frequencies are selected with relays
- M/S function lets user adjust the Mid and Side channels separately
- Cue switch allows cueing Left or Right channel, or Mid and Side channels if M/S function is active
- Two green LED’s indicate if cue switch is active
- Super-low noise and harmonic distortion
- No electrolytic capacitors in audio path
- Extra-wide audio bandwidth
