Once I found a substitute for the missing AC cord, it works.

As noted, the shipment was incomplete. I should add that it was not shipped from B&H, but rather "direct from the supplier". As it turns out, that means that instead of B&H's 2 day shipping, it took 13 days. The package appears to have been thrown together in haste. There was no AC cord nor any insert suggesting use or parts list. For what it is worth, the AC cord from a Nikon battery charger suffices to make the ensemble operable. I've run it from an Anker 521 Power station for a few hours and will try it our for a longer time-lapse within the next couple of weeks. Camera is a Z6III. There is no issue with the Z's pickiness about batteries.
