Ideal as a general studio workhorse mic, the MXL 4000 is a multi-pattern FET condenser mic sporting selectable cardioid, omni, and figure-8 patterns for flexible recording. With its dual 25mm gold-sputtered diaphragms, this mic captures a silky and airy top end with a warm, vintage-style midrange, delivering classic FET condenser performance.
The max SPL of 130 dB allows the 4000 to be used on a wide range of sources, including loud drums and amplified instrument cabs. Along with selectable polar patterns, the 4000 features a switchable 150 Hz high-pass filter for eliminating unwanted low-frequency rumbles and a -10 dB pad for taming overly hot signals. The MXL 4000 includes a shockmount.
