HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw Monochrome Wireless Printer

The HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw Monochrome Wireless Printer is a wireless smart printer designed to save time, paper, and costs with fast speeds and automatic two-sided printing. The 3001dw prints up to 35 ppm in black, in 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution. The printer features a 250-sheet paper tray and 150-sheet output tray. With built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, one or more 3001dw units can be managed from the cloud and from a single dashboard. I bought this to replace a 20+ year old HP Laserjet 1320! It actually still works, but won't do everything I wanted. This new Laserjet Pro 3001dw works great for me. I have not tried the Ethernet even though I could, but I have it connected to my home PC via USB cable. It is not too different in size from my old printer and I don't care about the all-in-one type of printer. It is actually much lighter weight than the old one. I also managed to get it connected via WiFi to my home network, but unless I reconfigure my wireless router and disable some management things, I can't see it from the network over ethernet my connected pc. That is one reason I left it connected via USB. However, I did get it to connect Wirelessly to both my iPhone and iPad and it will print wirelessly from them at the same time as being connected via USB to my main PC, so I have all the connections that I was looking for without having to mess with my wireless router. The printing is great and does handle duplex printing. It also can handle envelopes better than my old printer. Haven't had very long, but hope it lasts as long as the last HP! B&H shipped quickly and I had it in just a few days via UPS.

If you have someone to install the printer while you are out of your office it would be a useful printer. But the installation is so onerous and painful that it's not worth the effort. The wifi setup requires a computer on the internet or a USB cable. I had to call HP support the first time which took 30-40 minutes to complete. When my network name and password changed, updating to the new credentials took 90 minutes of phone time between waiting for a support personnel or completing a tortuous process. Amongst other issues, it appears the HP software doesn't work on an Apple Silicon based computer. For comparison, a Canon Image Pro 4100 printer located in the same room as the HP Printer, took 1 minutes to change networks and passwords.

We can only recommend genuine HP toner with the HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw Monochrome Wireless Printer, B&H # HE3001DW. Using non-genuine HP toner would be something you would use at your own risk, understanding that if any issues arise from using it, HP can deny service on the printer if it was damaged by using non-genuine HP toner.
