JBL Endurance Peak 4 Reviews

Love

I've had these for a few months. I use them instead of plugging into my phone to listen to my sleep app. The sound is great battery lasts really well. I am charging just because I'm going on trip and in case I can't sleep I want to make sure they are ready to go. I do love them and I love that they fit in my ear as I have a very small opening and and earjacks fall out of my ear, even the smallest ones. I got the purple so I can find them easily and if anyone wears them I'll know right away.

Good features, when they work

Sound quality is good. The battery life is great. The magnetic click of putting the headphones in the charger is satisfying. The capacitive buttons on the sides are nice, but it is really easy to press them accidentally when adjusting them, but maybe I just need more practice. The light weight makes it easy to jog, but sometimes the audio desynced between left and right. (Not too often, but I've had them less than a month) Also some of the shock of my jogging steps passed through. You can reduce this by switching earpiece sizes, but then it seals away less noise. When connected to my phone, the battery notification comes up inconsistently. It can simultaneously link to two devices, but I found it often dropped the connection. This is annoying, but not a dealbreaker. Switching between noise cancelling and noise passing through is nice for jogging, but the noise cancellation will sometimes send out a random crackle (it's not just room noise, it is a different sound). Also, the active noise cancellation works well for low pitch noises, but it actually makes sudden high pitch noises worse (e.g. nail clippers, cooking oil crackling). This is a big issue for me. If you want to use them in a controlled environment, they are great and I would rate them higher. However, I bought them for versatility. For $129 some core features are too inconsistent.
