Hahnemuhle Hemp Gloss Baryta Paper (44" x 39' Roll)

I have previously used Hahnemuhle’s Natural Line of papers in an A3 sample pack, and had only limited success with each paper (hemp, bamboo and agave). I had high hopes for these all-natural fiber papers, but have so far not been that impressed, especially considering the high cost of each of those papers. So when I saw that Hahnemuhle had come out with the hemp baryta glossy paper, I had to give it a try. I have always liked Hahnemuhle’s baryta papers. Between the light textures, rich color saturation and hefty weight, they are a great fine art paper choice (albeit expensive!). What I most like about this hemp-rag baryta blend are the deeply saturated colors and the soft textured surface. In fact, for my darker, moody Nature images, the blacks in this paper render almost too saturated. I gave the Hahn Hemp Baryta Glossy paper three stars mostly because I am still on the fence about it. With the right photograph I’m certain that this paper will excel and produce great prints, but I’m not there yet. Also, Canson Platine does a better job for me overall, though without the textured surface that Hahn’s hemp paper does, and which I love for wildlife images.
