Bambu Lab H2D Overview

With a 13.8 x 12.8 x 12.6" build volume, dual nozzle configuration, enclosed active heated chamber, and included PEI plate, the Bambu Lab H2D 3D Printer Combo with AMS 2 Pro delivers multi-color 3D printing with ease. The closed-loop servo motor extruder features a 350°C max nozzle temperature and full filament path AI detection for accurate and issue-free printing of detailed 3D models.

The H2D AMS Combo comes with the AMS (Automatic Material System) 2 Pro, which stores four filaments and allows for multi-color 3D printing. It features enhanced air-tight filament storage and an electromagnetic air vent that dries filament 30% faster than sealed heating, maintaining low humidity for improved storage and print quality. The AMS 2 Pro can be serially connected with three others and eight AMS HT units for multi-color, multi-material prints that can utilize up to a total of 24 filaments or materials.

Live Spatial Alignment
The H2D's BirdsEye camera, combined with computer vision algorithms, delivers topdown-view alignment accuracy up to 0.3mm. This advanced spatial alignment allows users to place the tool path at the right position on the material.
Auto Arrangement
Leveraging real-time images from the BirdsEye camera, Bambu Suite can automatically arrange your project according to the shape of your material, such as leftover plywood from the previous project. This feature helps you to get the most out of every material when using the optional 10W/40W Laser and Cutting Module.
Material CodeSync
The H2D automatically scans the QR code on your material to load the ideal preset.
Large Work Zone
Creating large-scale projects is easy thanks to the build volume of 13.8 x 12.8 x 12.6", an expanded capacity that empowers you to print large 3D models.
Temperature Control
Equipped with a 120°C active chamber heating and a high-temperature hotend reaching up to 350°C, the H2D delivers precise closed-loop temperature control. This advanced system effectively eliminates warping and deformation in high-performance materials, ensuring optimal layer bonding and maximizing their full potential.
Real High-Flow Hotend
The H2D's high-flow hotend ensures reliable, high-speed printing at 600 mm/s. Designed for consistent performance, it eliminates mid-print flow rate restrictions, enabling uninterrupted high-speed printing regardless of the print size or complexity.
DynaSense Extruder
Bambu Lab's proprietary PMSM servo architecture establishes an intelligent extrusion governance system. It executes 20kHz torque/resistance and position sampling to dynamically modulate electromagnetic torque victors, stabilizing extrusion and detecting filament grinding and clogging.
Nozzle Camera
The H2D features an AI-backed nozzle camera with macro lens. This intelligent monitoring system continuously tracks extrusion patterns, immediately detecting material accumulation, filament deviations, and extrusion failures.
Pre-Flight Checklist by AI
Prior to each operational cycle, the H2D's vision system initiates a comprehensive pre-flight checklist.
  • Chamber Integrity Scan: Detects debris across the entire print surface
  • Hardware Configuration Audit: Instantly identifies nozzle dimensions and build plate properties
  • Digital-Physical Alignment: Automatically verifies consistency between detected hardware specifications and active slicer parameters
SOTA Filament Monitoring
Unlike legacy systems with single filament run-out detectors, the H2D features comprehensive material flow monitoring. Throughout the AMS-to-nozzle path there are 15 strategic sensors that form an intelligent network that continuously tracks five parameters: feeding velocity, tension, filament tip location, extruder thermal environment, and dynamic extrusion pressure. This establishes an industry-leading filament behavior control system.

This is my first 3D printer and it could not have gone easier. The initial setup was pretty quick and painless. It does take some time for it to initialize after the setup and again after the firmware updates. Once that is done load up some filament and it is off to the races.

The Bambu Lab H2D 3D Printer Combo with AMS 2 Pro (B&H # BAH2DAMCMBUS) is designed to operate at a single voltage. The version for the US region operates on 100 to 120V.
