Beautiful and reliable film

I have been using Tri-X for over 15 years and it has remained my favorite film. I often work with less than perfect cameras such as Holgas and Dianas and Tri-X has a forgiving latitude when my exposures are not ideal. There is something special and hard to describe about the contrast. It just has a little something extra that I don’t get from other films. I expose at box speed and develop in D-76 1:1 and that combo has been serving me well all these years. Whether I scan or print in the darkroom, I am always pleased with the tonality and contrast of this film.

Worth the price

I was using Arista 120 to save a few dollars, but was not happy with the muddy negatives. What a difference Tri X makes! It is easier to load in my developer tank since it is thicker, and apparently has more silver since the negatives seem to have more tone. My #1 choice would be Tmax, but this Tri X is a good choice for the money.
