FiiO DM15 R2R Reviews

Even better

This mighty player has it all. A solid build, multiple capabilities, and incredible performance. Tracking has also been greatly improved over the DM13. I haven't hit a single issue while playing CDs. Areas for improvement: 1) Display - While fully functional, it's much too small. (Perhaps find a way to move the front input jacks to the side or rear of the player to provide additional space to maximize display capabilities.) 2) Minor gripe - Allow the lid to open a more fully or better yet, add some spring resistance when closing. I accidentally slammed the lid closed on more than one occasion by simply bumping the lid while it was in its open position. That said, a step in the right direction and still the best portable CD player on the market! FiiO is making some really good products lately, and this is certainly one of them.

Very good player actually

Initially I bought a Shanling Zero T player, which is more expensive than this, simply because of tubes. However I ended up to return it. I could feel R2R DAC benefit, but my ears could not feel much difference when tubes were engaged. My use case was to listen through headphones (ATH-M50x) only, not through main stereo system. Also did not feel rich bass as I like. With Fio I really enjoy the R2R produced sound and use the gain switch to hear bass better. Very warm rich sound. Highly recommend, no complains so far.
