The Universal Shockmount Base Kit from Tri-Solate is a rugged and durably built advanced mounting system, compatible with most microphones, suitable for both studio and stage. The basic kit includes the shockmount, a 5/8"-27 custom mic sleeve, and a 5/8"-27 x 4" mic mast with a jam nut.
The triple-isolation system, when used with the separately available cable isolator, can drastically reduce vibrations and noise that are transmitted through cables into microphones and thus, into your recording. Engineers tend to wrap or clip microphone cables to stands or booms for neatness, which can often have a counteractive effect on the recording, as the cable transmits vibrations and renders the shockmount less effective.
