Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Inkjet Printer

Produce ultra high definition photos with the Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Inkjet Printer from Epson. More compact than its predecessor, this highly advanced printer is able to fit on your desk and then create images up to 13" wide and 44" long. Also, it uses a six-color Claria Photo HD ink set that includes a red and gray ink for a wider gamut and smoother gradations. Images are sharp and highly detailed as well, thanks to a 5760 x 1440 dpi resolution. For more general printing needs, as one might have in a home office, the printer can work quickly with print speeds of 9.2 ppm in black and 9 ppm in color.

A couple methods are available for media handling, making it easy to work with standard printer paper and more specialized photographic media. This includes a 50-sheet rear feed that can handle thicker paper types as well as a 200-sheet front tray that supports automatic duplexing. The output tray has an auto open/close function and users can print directly to CDs and DVDs as well. This unit is very easy to use with a clear 2.4" color LCD screen displaying status and an easy-access USB port for direct printing. Additionally, while more conventional USB 2.0 and Ethernet connections are present, the XP-15000 features built-in Wi-Fi for a wireless setup and access to many mobile printing protocols.

Using drop-on-demand MicroPiezo inkjet technology with a six-color Claria Photo HD ink set that features gray and red inks, the XP-15000 is able to create sharp, vivid imagery with resolutions up to 5760 x 1440 dpi.
Printing is quite fast, with speeds of up to 9.2 ppm in black and 9 ppm in color. Also, a 4 x 6" borderless photo can be created in just 27 seconds when using the Draft Mode.
Via a 200-sheet front tray users can perform automatic duplexing at speeds up to 4.7 ppm.
Specialized media can be inserted into the 50-sheet rear tray which has support for prints up to 13 x 44" in size, including borderless printing up to 13 x 19". Supports specialty media up to 23 mil paper thickness.
Mobile printing is available through various protocols, including Epson Connect Solutions which offers Epson E-mail Print, Epson Remote Print, the Epson iPrint App for iOS and Android, and the Creative Print App for iOS and Android. Other services supported include Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Android printing, Fire OS printing, and Mopria Print Service.

Here in Fairbanks Alaska, there is no real Photo print shop that meet my standards in turn I have been using online photo print services it's not that they didn't do a good job, but the shipping was cutting into the profits not to mention the time it was taking and in the event of a redo it was costing even more time. After completing a 2-year photo documentary, it is time for the public presentation in the form of a photo show after doing the math it was feasible to purchase an Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Inkjet Printer. I had planned a whole weekend to set the printer up and learn the in and out of the printer, well after two hours of setting up the printer the 1st test print came out and just blew me away dead nuts on target and the printer was ready for action. Keep in mind I have invested in some of the best components for my photo editing system over the years and the Epson HD XP 15000 complemented the system. As I write this review it is still printing the last of the 18 prints in the queue with every one of the prints was to my high standards from the looks of it, I will be able to complete the project way ahead of schedule. The monochrome prints that this printer produced was impressive no need for test prints and wasted paper or ink this is true for the color prints also. With over 45 years in photography at the professional level this is the most impressive printers in this price range, if you're shopping for a 13-inch printer don't pass this up!

Excellent “large format” professional quality printer. 16”x20” would be my preferred size, but the XP-15000 prints 13”x19”, which fits nicely into 18”x24” mats. The print quality is excellent. My first XP-15000 developed feed problems after 7 years, and I just purchased my second one.

The Epson Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Inkjet Printer cannot print on laser printer acetate; however, it can print on translucent film such as the Inkpress Media Backlight Film (8.5 x 11", 20 Sheets), B&H # INBLFL20.

Will the XP-15000 print onto inkjet negative material?

No! The Epson Clear Glossy Film is only made for UltraChrome K3 & HDR Ink which are pigment. This printer uses Dye Inks. Unless you find a brand that specifies that it'll work with dye based ink, the amswer is NO.

There are both standard and high yield cartridges available. For the high yield, the black can print up to 500 pages, and the colors can print up to 830 pages. For the standard yield, the black can print up to 240 pages, and the colors can print up to 360 pages.
