Monster Adapter LA-FZ1 Overview

Monster Adapter LA-FZ1 Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera Adapter enables the use of legacy Nikon F-Mount lenses with Nikon Z-Mount camera bodies. It provides communication and power supply through its electronic contacts to provide autofocus and aperture settings from the camera body, and it is compatible with lenses that have built-in motors. It features a convenient removable tripod foot.

Available firmware for the adapter updates can be installed through the camera body. Please note that the current firmware does not support autofocus for EMD electromagnetic aperture, lens VR, AF-I, AF-S, or AF-P lenses.

After taking the advice of updating its firmware to the latest version, my favorite two Nikon legacy AF-D lenses work on my Z8 & Z9 just as well as on my D850 & D610. How long I have waited for this product!!!

I purchased this adpater to use with a Nikon 200mm F/4 D Macro lens but the lens would start pulsing near the focal point and if in AF-S would eventually stop with the subject out of focus. AF-C mode would have the lens pulsing until the half press shuttrer or AF-On button was released. The adapter worked with an 85mm F/1.8 D lens for a while but started the same pulsing. I exchanged several emails with Monster Adapter and they were quick to respond, sending some suggestions on how to remedy the problem. Nothing worked so I have to return the adapter. Tried with a Z9 and Z7ii.
