Full Android OS Support
A first for an Astell&Kern device, proprietary ADP (Astell&Kern Direct Path) technology now makes it possible, even in streaming, for bit-perfect, lossless playback without Android's sampling limitation.
Digital Audio Remaster
DAR, or Digital Audio Remaster, is another first for an Astell&Kern device, working to elevate audio quality to produce audio with a more analog-like richness. However, the SP4000 first uses a VSE (Virtual Sound Extender) to virtually restore lost harmonics. This two-step process gives you precision and completeness in addition to the analog warmth and nuance.
Crossfeed Mixing
Sound from one channel is sent to the other with a timing difference that works to center the sound image. You have the option of selecting Shelf Cutoff, Shelf Gain, or Mixer Level to customize your level of crossfeed.
ReplayGain
A uniform volume is now possible with ReplayGain, which automatically adjusts the audio sources with varying volume levels to achieve uniformity. The feature works on personalized playlists and supports up to 192 kHz/24-bit sources.
Wireless Hi-Fi with BT Sink
Use the BT Sink function to wirelessly send audio from an external device through the SP4000 via Bluetooth to utilize its processing for Hi-Fi results.
4.5th Gen UI
The newly updated UI offers enhancements that are meant to improve functionality and the enjoyment of listening to your music. One such addition is the display's animation of an LP sliding in and out as you swipe through albums. This upgrade still retains the well-known, intuitive, and user-friendly Astell&Kern Crimson theme.
